Thankful 11/26/09

We are thankful for all the family and friends in our lives !! We truly feel blessed to have them around and spend special moments with them when we can.

Thanksgiving 2009 at our house was a success. We cooked a 19 pound turkey with all the trimmings.... and had mom's famous homemade apple pie!! It was all delicious !!! We enjoyed our time with the family!

Tree Tagging 11/21/09

Today we went to the local tree farm, Tonry Farm, to pick out and tag our Christmas tree.

There were acres and acres of trees to choose from so we took our time. The girls found one that they like but unfortunately it was already tagged...and decorated too.

We walked quite a bit... and finally found a great shaped tree. It happen to be in the very back of the farm. It was the perfect height and width...and had just the right amount of branches for all our ornaments. We quickly tagged it and put on a few ribbons to decorate it a bit. Can't wait til "she" comes home.
This is the front view..... just perfect !

Turkey Coloring 11/18/09

I was thinking a lot about Thanksgiving coming up and thought it would be kinda fun for the girls to color a few Turkey pictures. I printed a few off the internet and they immediately went to work on their coloring. The girls have been coloring a lot lately.... their use of color is amazing ...and Charlotte has been doing a great job of staying within the lines.

The girls finished their Turkey pictures and I hung them on the wall for all to see when Thanksgiving comes. They did a wonderful job with the colors!

Busy Beading 11/14/09

Today we went to the local craft store and stocked up on more beads !!! The girls got some fancy ones this time.... ones with grooves and spikes in them so they can make more unique type necklaces and bracelets. As soon as we had our dinner and put little William down, the girls sat down to put together some really cute jewelry. They just love it !!!

Charlotte picked out all the red ones for a Xmas necklace.....

No Rest 11/13/09

When we go to the mall I love to stop by the little play area so the little ones can play and I can REST (and maybe text) for a few minutes! That is no longer the case !! As soon as I put little William down he is off everywhere...climbing, sliding, going in and out of tunnels while lots of other bigger kids are running around !!! I pretty much have to follow him around because he could could get hurt !!! Yikes !!!
No more rest for me.....

Check him out his climbing and sliding skills:

Xmas is coming !!!! 11/13/09

We went to the mall and I couldn't believe how many stores were ready for Xmas! Even the little Santa Village was up and running !!!
The girls were so excited to see Santa was there too !!! They ran past all the ropes and gave him big hugs !! Caitlyn told Santa that she was a good girl and rattled off a list of things she wanted for Xmas..... Charlotte did the same. After a long while, I had to pry them away from Santa so he can visit with all the other little kids !!!

On the way past Santa again.... the girls just had to get another glimpse of him.... They waved good bye again....and again !!! Isn't Xmas a GREAT time ??

Knee Walking 11/03/09

William is now 14 and a half months and he still has not started walking but he has become very good at walking on his knees. It is so funny to see him jet across the room on his knees....and he loves it. I think he is content getting around this way so he thinks he doesn't need to walk right now...

Check him out:

Halloween in our neighborhood 10/31/09

Halloween started for us at 4 o'clock because our neighbor down the street held a little Halloween party for the kids. It was a fun party.... lots of food, drinks and an apple bobbing contest !!! This year I decided (or Chris suggested) to dress up too. The kiddos were all dalmations so it was fitting that I dress up as Cruella Deville. It was fun and all the neighborhood kids got a kick out of it !
After the party we headed out to trick or treat. Auntie Cass and Brianna came by to join us too while Grandmommy and Granddaddy stayed behind passing out candy. We hit a few houses but after a while the girls were tired... I guess all the excitement of the day wiped them out. It turned out to be a great Halloween !!

Trick or Treat Early 10/30/09

The next town over, Exeter was having Halloween Trick or Treating one day earlier so we decided to take the kids for a trial run. We drove up to a nice neighborhood and started going door to door. The girls really loved it.... we were following them instead of them following us. Charlotte also asked each house for any extra candy for her little brother. It was so cute !!!
We scored a lot of candy and the girls were really excited about that !!!

Pumpkin Happy Face 10/29/09

After dinner, Chris and the girls decided to carve a pumpkin for our front porch this year. The girls were really excited and anxious to help out. They had watched their teacher today carve out a smiley face and wanted the same for our pumpkin. After scooping out all the seeds and stringy stuff, Chris carved out a happy and somewhat scary face! They girls loved it and I thought it was perfect for my front door !!!

Our first day of Preschool 10/27/09

Today we finally enrolled the girls into preschool. We found a great school down the street from our house and it had some afternoon openings. The girls were excited to go and really like their new teacher. As a matter of fact, they both waved and yelled out good bye to me as I was leaving. I guess they had been ready for a few weeks now !!

Witches of Salem 10/25/09

Today we drove down to Salem Mass to check out the witches. This was the town where anyone suspected of being a witch or performing witchcraft were burned by the townspeople long ago. Now it is a great tourist attraction with lots of witch themed stores and restaurants. Many people came out and most were dressed in witch hats and costumes. There was also the famous Salem Witch Museum where the lines were really long. And across the street from the museum, they had a festival in the park complete with rides, games, arts & crafts, and lots of food. We took the kids there and first stopped at the Face painting booth... Caitlyn got a pumkin on one cheek but requested a rainbow on the other. Charlotte requested two pumkins on each cheek. It was so cute !!! The girls rode a couple of rides and the train that circled the whole park. We had a fun day and we enjoyed seeing all the witches !
